Sweden Visa Guide for Pakistani Citizens

✈️ 1. Visit Visa (Type C – Schengen Short Stay)

Purpose:

  • Tourism
  • Visiting friends or relatives (up to 90 days)

Required Documents:

  • Visa application form (Schengen)
  • Valid passport (min 3 months after return)
  • 2 recent photos
  • Travel itinerary (flight bookings)
  • Hotel reservation or invitation letter from host in Sweden
  • CNIC and FRC (if visiting relatives)
  • Cover letter
  • Travel insurance (min €30,000 coverage)
  • Bank statement (last 6 months)
  • Employment letter or business documents
  • Visa Fee: €80 + VFS service charges

📌 Host must fill the official “Invitation Form” (Invitationsformulär) and include a copy of their Swedish ID/residence card.


💼 2. Business Visa (Type C – Schengen Short Stay)

Purpose:

  • Business meetings, training, trade fairs

Additional Documents:

  • Invitation from Swedish company
  • Cover letter from Pakistani company
  • SECP registration, NTN certificate
  • Business bank statement
  • Travel insurance
  • Hotel & flight reservation
  • Visa Fee: €80 + VFS fee

📌 Swedish company should mention visit purpose, accommodation responsibility, and contact details.


🏠 3. Family Reunion Visa (Residence Permit / Type D)

Purpose:

  • Joining spouse, parent, or child legally residing in Sweden

Steps:

  1. Sponsor in Sweden applies online via Migrationsverket.se
  2. Once application is complete, applicant is invited for biometrics/interview at VFS/Embassy

Documents Required:

  • Marriage/Birth certificate (MOFA-attested + translated into Swedish or English)
  • FRC (Family Registration Certificate)
  • Copy of sponsor’s passport/Swedish residence card
  • Proof of relationship (photos, chats, calls)
  • Proof of accommodation and income in Sweden
  • Police clearance
  • Medical certificate
  • Passport + photos
  • Visa Fee: ~SEK 2,000 (≈ €175)

📌 After approval, you receive a residence card to live and work in Sweden.


🎓 4. Student Visa (Residence Permit / Type D)

Purpose:

  • Study in a Swedish university or college (longer than 90 days)

Steps:

  1. Get admission to a Swedish institution
  2. Apply for residence permit online via Migrationsverket
  3. Submit biometrics and passport at VFS

Required Documents:

  • Admission letter
  • Proof of paid tuition fee (or scholarship)
  • Proof of financial means (approx. SEK 10,314/month or SEK 123,768/year)
  • Bank statement or sponsor letter
  • Accommodation proof
  • Passport + photos
  • Health insurance (if under 1-year stay)
  • Educational documents (HEC-attested + translated)
  • Visa Fee: SEK 1,500 (~€130)

📌 Residence permit is issued for the full study duration. You must apply before arriving in Sweden.


👷 5. Work Permit (Residence Permit / Type D)

Purpose:

  • Full-time job offer from a Swedish employer

Steps:

  1. Employer applies for a work permit on your behalf via the Swedish Migration Agency
  2. After approval, you attend VFS/Embassy appointment for biometrics and residence card

Required Documents:

  • Job offer (min salary SEK 13,000/month)
  • Employer’s company registration & tax compliance
  • Passport + employment contract
  • Educational qualifications (attested + translated)
  • Experience certificates
  • Police character certificate
  • Accommodation proof
  • Passport + photo
  • Visa Fee: SEK 2,000 (~€175)

📌 Once granted, you’ll receive a residence permit card, which also allows travel in the Schengen Zone.
