On this Day
7:30 AM -Wake-up time. Check out and leave before 8:30 AM
8:30 AM – Drive to Swat (Mingora/Saidu Sharif).
Depart Islamabad/Lahore and head towards Swat. Take the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway northwest, then go north through the Kernal Sher Khan junction to the Swat Motorway. Pass through the cities and areas of Mardan, Katlang, and Malakand before arriving at the Swat Motorway Toll Plaza and continuing northeast into the Swat Valley via the Chakdara Interchange. The freeway terminates here, and you continue on a single two-lane road to Mingora/Saidu Sharif.
Afternoon
12:15 PM – First Close View of the Swat River at Gatkoto
At Gatkoto, you will see the Swat River for the first time up close. Take a minute to absorb the scenery and plan a small picture stop.
12:45 PM – Passing through little towns.
Continue your journey to the little settlements of Haibat Gram, Landakay, Kota, Barikot, and Odigram. You may have lunch or snacks at any roadside restaurant or shop in these places.
1:45 PM – Arrival in Mingora/Saidu Sharif
Arrive at Mingora/Saidu Sharif and settle into your hotel. Consider staying at the Serena Hotel in Swat or the Hotel Burj Al Swat.
Evening
2:30 PM – Visit local Buddhist sites.
Visit local Buddhist sites in the adjacent towns. The signboards indicating distances to these locations are prominently visible on the road, making it simple to locate and visit these ancient sites.
4:00 PM – Stroll near the hotel.
Enjoy some spare time by taking a stroll around the hotel. This is an excellent opportunity to explore the surrounding region, visit neighboring stores, or simply rest.
7:00 PM – Dinner
Have dinner at a nearby restaurant or at your hotel. After a long day of traveling, indulge in local food and relax.
