Norway Visa Guide for Pakistani Citizens

✈️ 1. Visit Visa (Type C – Schengen Short Stay)

Purpose:

  • Tourism
  • Visiting family or friends in Norway

Required Documents:

  • Schengen visa application form
  • Valid passport (minimum 3 months beyond travel)
  • Two biometric passport-size photos
  • Round-trip flight booking
  • Hotel reservation OR invitation letter from host in Norway (with UDI ID number or residence card)
  • Cover letter explaining purpose of visit
  • Travel insurance (€30,000 minimum coverage)
  • 6-month personal bank statement
  • Employment letter or proof of business (NTN/SECP)
  • CNIC copy & FRC (if visiting relatives)
  • Visa Fee: €80 + VFS charges

💼 2. Business Visa (Type C – Schengen Short Stay)

Purpose:

  • Business meetings, conferences, trade fairs, or negotiations

Additional Documents:

  • Invitation letter from Norwegian company
  • Letter from Pakistani employer (purpose and trip details)
  • Business registration documents (SECP, NTN, Chamber certificate)
  • 6-month business bank statement
  • Proof of accommodation and travel
  • All standard Visit Visa documents

🏠 3. Family Reunion Visa (Type D + Residence Permit)

Purpose:

  • Joining a spouse, parent, or child legally living in Norway

Steps:

  1. Sponsor applies for a residence permit for family reunification through UDI (Norwegian Immigration Office)
  2. Once approved, applicant applies for Type D visa via VFS Norway

Documents Required:

  • Residence permit approval letter from UDI
  • National visa application (Type D)
  • Valid passport
  • Marriage or birth certificate (translated to Norwegian/English + MOFA attested)
  • FRC from NADRA
  • Sponsor’s passport or residence card copy
  • Proof of accommodation and income
  • Police clearance certificate
  • Health insurance
  • Medical certificate (if applicable)
  • Visa Fee: ~€590 (NOK 10,500 approx.)

📌 After arrival in Norway, the applicant must register and receive a residence card.


🎓 4. Student Visa (Type D + Residence Permit)

Purpose:

  • University, Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD programs in Norway

Steps:

  1. Get acceptance from a Norwegian university
  2. Apply online for a student residence permit via UDI.no
  3. Book a VFS appointment to submit biometrics and documents

Documents Required:

  • Letter of admission from a Norwegian institution
  • Proof of payment of tuition (if applicable)
  • Proof of sufficient funds: NOK 137,907 (≈ €12,000) for one academic year
  • Accommodation proof
  • Valid passport
  • Educational documents (HEC-attested + translated)
  • Police and medical clearance certificates

👷 5. Work Permit Visa (Type D + Residence Permit)

Purpose:

  • Employment in Norway with a valid job offer

Steps:

  1. Employer or applicant applies for work and residence permit on UDI.no
  2. After approval, submit documents to VFS Norway in Pakistan

Documents Required:

  • Residence permit approval from UDI
  • Valid passport
  • Employment contract
  • Educational and experience certificates (attested + translated)
  • CV
  • Proof of accommodation in Norway
  • Health insurance
  • Police clearance certificate
  • Medical certificate (if needed)
  • Visa Fee: NOK 6,300 (≈ €520)
