Italy Visa Guide for Pakistani Citizens

✈️ 1. Visit Visa (Schengen Visa – Type C)

Purpose:

  • Tourism
  • Visiting friends or family

Documents Required:

  • Completed Schengen visa application form
  • Valid passport (valid at least 3 months after return)
  • 2 biometric passport-size photos (white background)
  • Flight reservation
  • Hotel booking OR invitation letter from host (official form from Comune is preferred)
  • Travel insurance (minimum coverage €30,000)
  • 6-month personal bank statement (signed/stamped)
  • Job letter or business registration documents
  • Family Registration Certificate (FRC) if visiting relatives
  • CNIC + passport copy
  • Visa Fee: €80 + VFS fee

💼 2. Business Visa (Schengen Visa – Type C)

Purpose:

  • Business meetings, events, trade fairs, or company visits

Additional Documents:

  • Invitation letter from Italian company
  • Business letter from Pakistani employer/company
  • Proof of business registration (NTN, SECP, Chamber Certificate)
  • Company bank account statement
  • Proof of ongoing business relationship (contracts, emails, invoices)
  • Travel itinerary & hotel booking
  • All documents from Visit Visa list

🏠 3. Family Reunion Visa (National Visa – Type D + Nulla Osta)

Purpose:

  • Joining spouse, parent, or children who are legal residents or citizens of Italy

Documents Required:

  • Application form for National Visa (Type D)
  • Valid passport
  • Nulla Osta (entry clearance) issued by the Italian Immigration Office (Questura)
  • Marriage or birth certificate (translated + attested)
  • FRC from NADRA
  • Proof of relationship with the sponsor
  • Sponsor’s Italian ID card or residence permit
  • Proof of accommodation in Italy
  • Sponsor’s income proof (CUD, job letter)
  • Police clearance certificate
  • Medical certificate
  • Visa Fee: €116

📌 After arrival, apply for Permesso di Soggiorno (residence permit) within 8 days.


🎓 4. Student Visa (National Visa – Type D)

Purpose:

  • Higher education or language study in Italy

Documents Required:

  • Acceptance/enrollment letter from Italian university
  • Proof of tuition fee payment
  • Academic documents (attested + translated to Italian or English)
  • Proof of financial means:
    • Approx. €7,000+ in personal/sponsor’s bank account
  • Accommodation proof (dorm or rental agreement)
  • Police clearance certificate
  • Health insurance for duration of stay
  • Passport + 2 photos
  • Visa application form
  • Visa Fee: €50–€116

📌 After arrival, apply for student residence permit in Italy.


👷 5. Work Permit Visa (National Visa – Type D + Decreto Flussi Quota)

Purpose:

  • Long-term employment under Italian government quota (Decreto Flussi)

Procedure:

  1. Employer in Italy applies for work authorization (Nulla Osta al lavoro) through immigration portal
  2. After approval, employee applies for Type D work visa at Italian Embassy

Documents Required:

  • Job offer + approved Nulla Osta
  • Copy of employer’s tax/registration documents
  • Valid passport + visa application
  • Proof of accommodation in Italy
  • Police clearance certificate
  • Experience certificates, academic qualifications
  • Health insurance
