Iceland Visa Guide for Pakistani Citizens

✈️ 1. Visit Visa (Schengen Type C – Short Stay)

Purpose:

  • Tourism
  • Visiting family or friends
  • Stay up to 90 days in 180-day period

Documents Required:

  • Schengen visa application form
  • Passport (valid 3+ months beyond return, 2 blank pages)
  • Two passport-size photos (white background)
  • Flight booking
  • Hotel reservation or invitation letter from Icelandic host
  • Travel insurance (€30,000 coverage)
  • 6-month personal bank statement (signed + stamped)
  • Employment letter OR business registration docs
  • Family Registration Certificate (if visiting relatives)
  • CNIC + passport copy
  • Visa Fee: €80 + VFS charges

📍 Note: Iceland is represented by the Royal Danish Embassy for visa processing in Pakistan. You must apply through VFS Denmark.


💼 2. Business Visa (Schengen Type C – Short Stay)

Purpose:

  • Business meetings
  • Trade fairs
  • Corporate training/conferences

Additional Documents:

  • Invitation letter from Icelandic company (mentioning travel purpose, duration, and financial responsibility)
  • Business letter from Pakistani employer/company
  • Company registration documents (NTN, Chamber of Commerce)
  • Business bank statement (6 months)
  • Proof of past business relations (emails, contracts, invoices)
  • All documents required for visit visa

🏠 3. Family Reunion Visa (Type D – Long Stay)

Purpose:

  • Reunite with spouse, children, or parents legally living in Iceland

Documents Required:

  • Long-stay visa application (D-Type)
  • Residence permit application for family reunification via Icelandic Directorate of Immigration
  • Passport
  • Marriage certificate / birth certificate (translated & attested)
  • Family Registration Certificate (FRC)
  • Sponsor’s Icelandic ID card or residence permit
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Sponsor’s income proof / employment contract
  • Police clearance certificate
  • Health insurance
  • Visa Fee: ~€100–150 (depending on type)

📌 Important: Residence permit must be applied and approved first before you apply for D visa.


🎓 4. Study Visa (Type D + Student Residence Permit)

Purpose:

  • Full-time study at an Icelandic educational institution

Documents Required:

  • Admission letter from Icelandic university
  • Proof of tuition fee payment
  • Academic documents (translated + attested)
  • Proof of funds: approx. ISK 217,799/month (~€1,500)
    • Personal bank statement or sponsor affidavit
  • Accommodation proof
  • Police clearance certificate
  • Medical certificate
  • Passport + photos
  • Travel health insurance
  • Visa application + student residence permit application
  • Visa Fee: ~€100–150

📌 Must apply for a student residence permit before traveling. Submit both online and at embassy.


👷 5. Work Permit Visa (Type D + Residence Permit)

Purpose:

  • Long-term employment with an Icelandic employer

Steps:

  1. Employer applies for work permit/residence permit to Iceland’s Directorate of Immigration.
  2. Once approved, applicant applies for Type D Visa in Pakistan.

Documents Required:

  • Signed employment contract from Icelandic company
  • Approval of work/residence permit from Icelandic Directorate
  • Proof of qualifications (degrees, diplomas – attested + translated)
  • CV + experience letters
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Police clearance certificate
  • Health insurance
  • Medical certificate
  • Passport + photos
  • Visa Fee: ~€100–150
